DROPPING A BOOK RIGHT AFTER YOU CHECK OUT MY STORE—JUST CLICK ON THE WORD—STORE—DUH—ABOVE AND I THANK YOU.

Today’s book is by Heather Graham  (http://www.eheathergraham.com/) , a Florida resident that writes a lot about Key West, entitled

THE CURSED  (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18528417-the-cursed)

it’s  a good summer read…a mystery loaded with assorted ghosts, murder and mayham and what better place than in Key Weird.  Try it (both the book and Key West) you will more than likely like them.

Let’s do an weird- island day:

Yes dear even the dead in Key West are a bit… ah…weird… Take the centrally located and highest point on the island cemetery:  Florida’s first millionaire, William Curry is at rest beneath a tall, elaborately decorated marble shaft. … On Fourth Avenue in the graveyard is the statue of Earl Saunders Johnson, the shoes are really his shoes encased in plaster. On down the rows of graves there is the one of a … Thomas Romer with the inscription “Good citizen for 65 of his 108 years.” There is a (toy) airplane on top of one crypt, which over the years has been painted different colors. The most talked about inscriptions in the cemetery is one that says, “Devoted Fan of Julio Iglesias” and the marble tablet for Pearl Roberts, which says, “I told you I was sick.” (she was a waitress and local hypochondriac)     http://weirdus.com/states/florida/cemetery_safari/key_west_graves/index.php

Robert the Doll that was once owned by Key West painter and author Robert Eugene Otto. The doll is said to be possessed by evil spirits, and has a terrifying reputation.   Neighbors claimed to have seen the doll moving from window to window when the family was out. Sometimes the doll would emit a terrifying giggle..”  It is now at the Mortello Museum near the Airport.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_the_Doll
