AND TODAY I GIVE YOU MY FAVORITE SCOTTISH RUSSIAN

First thanks for all the positive replies. Until I did this Blog I hadn’t even read one and had serious issues on how I would do. But never being one to be fearful I plunged ahead. I apologize if I don’t do it just right–but I hope to improve with practice.

Still house bound, but getting work done.

Today is the last installment of the ’64 TV shows: This one is the only action drama of the group: In this series charm, offenisve and a bevy of gadgets were used to battle baddies from Thrush….any idea? Man From Uncle was my favorite (though I did watch Bewitched and Gillian’s Island) of all of these, it was my introduction to the spy genre and I loved the blonde Russian (who was really Scottish)

“…series that was broadcast on NBC from September 22, 1964, to January 15, 1968. It follows the exploits of two secret agents, played by Robert Vaughn and David McCallum, who work for a fictitious secret international espionage and law-enforcement agency called U.N.C.L.E…. U.N.C.L.E. was an acronym for the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement. Each episode of the television show had an “acknowledgement” credit to the U.N.C.L.E. on the end titles.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_from_U.N.C.L.E.
Many of you may be more familiar with David McCallum as the crusty “Ducky” on NCIS.

You might be interested that “…new project is Guy Ritchie’s (Lock, Snatch, Sherlock Holmes) feature adaptation of the classic 1960s TV series, The Man from U.N.C.L.E….In this movie Henry Cavill plays super spy Napoleon Solo, while Armie Hammer will portray Illya Kuryakin, his fellow agent…” http://henrycavill.org/en/filmography/projects/man-from-uncle The movie is scheduled to be released in 2015.

So while I loved the series I did not consume any of the merchandise.
Google can you help, please?

WE GO FROM AN OOKY FAMILY TO A TOWN WITHOUT PITY

House bound again. I seem to get more work done if I don’t have too many distractions.
Still doing look ups on new items and pictures of items for when I go on line.
On my 2nd cup of coffee and away we go.

TODAY we’re doing another 1964 show that I have my doubts there’s a lot of collectibles, but… “This is the continuing story of Peyton Place.” The show was based on a steamy (at the time) 1956 novel by Grace Metalious and was the first prime-time soap opera set in an idyllic town with harrowing secrets.

“…was preceded by a 1957 film adaptation. A total of 514 episodes were broadcast, in black-and-white (1964 – 1966) and color (1966 – 1969). At… it’s peak ran three new episodes a week. …guest stars (that) appeared in the series for extended periods…Dan Duryea, Susan Oliver, Leslie Nielsen, Gena Rowlands, and Lee Grant, who won an Emmy Award…series served as the springboard for performers Mia Farrow, Ryan O’Neal, Chris Connelly, David Canary….Peyton Place: Part One, was released …by Shout! Factory …31 half-hour episodes…Peyton Place: Part Two…including 33 half-hour episodes…” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peyton_Place_(TV_series). In 1972, the daytime soap `Return to Peyton Place’ picked up where this story left off.

…” “Peyton Place” paved the way for such series as “Dallas,” “Dynasty” and “Desperate Housewives.” But while these increasingly outrageous programs make Peyton Place look like Mayberry…” http://articles.latimes.com/2009/may/23/entertainment/et-malone23
“…the true descendants of Peyton Place are not Dynasty and Knots Landing, but Six Feet Under and Mad Men…” http://www.avclub.com/article/why-institutional-memory-was-peyton-places-hidden-105363
