20 Real Old Wild West Attractions You Have to See to Believe
One aspect of the frontier has been dodged persistently to satisfy the vagaries of folk drama: the isolation and loneliness of families who lived there. There was no place lonelier then the frontier. The legal requirements that a homesteader stay on his claim–often extending for miles around–practically excluded human contacts. There was nowhere to go, no one to see; no casual visitors, no passers-by. The prairie itself, a bleak flat expanse unrelieved by so much as a single tree, emphasized the settlers’ sense of physial seperation from the human community.

Berenice III was the first queen of Egypt to rule without a consort in over a millennium. Though her reign was brief, her example inspired her descendant Cleopatra to also also rule alone. Improbably, neither Queen possessed Egyptian blood. Berenice did not even speak Egyptian, she considered Greek her lingua frenea.

King Street London
Notable occupiers include the principal London premises of the auctioneers Christie’s and Palamon Capital Partners.
The street is presumed to be named in honor of Charles II,and first appears in the rate books of the parish of St. Martin in 1673: it was previously Charles Street like the street on the other side of the square. The ground on the south side of the street formed part of the freehold granted by the Crown to the Earl of St. Albans’s trustees in 1665, as did the ground on the north side, between St. James Square and Duke Street. The remainder on the north side was part of the land leased in 1661 by Henrietta Maria’s trustees to the Earl of St. Albans’s trustees for 30 years subsequent grants extended this term to 1740. This part of the street is still the freehold property of the Crown.
