The Seven Cities of ‘Orlando North’ in Seminole County, Florida

Corstorphine’s Ghosts:

The White Lady:  Lady Christian Nimms (d 1679).  Niece of Lord James Forrester of the Castle.   The Laird was evidentally the lover of many women including the lady in question his married niece according to legend.  Word is that they often met secretly at a tree on the grounds, then one night he no-showed and she sent the servant to get him at the nearby Black Bull Inn, evidentally a go to site for him.  He didn’t appreciate her intervention with his drinking and a serious verbal battle took place and the young lady took it a few step further, retreaving a sword and running him thorough.  She was arrested and tried in Edinburgh where she claimed self defense but to no avail and she was found guilty and eventually was taken to Edinburgh cross wearing all in white and then beheaded.  Yes and that’s where you get the lady all in white and carrying a bloody sword, though I do not remember if she was headless or not and besides she has probably left the building as—–the castle remains no longer do—remain that is.

Exhibition of Tiffany Glass Sparkles at the Delaware Art Museum

Although his father, Charles Lewis had founded the most prestigious silver and jewelry company in America, Louis (Tiffany) chose another professional direction. Originally trained as a painter, he began studying the chemistry and techniqus of glassmaking when he was 24.  He developed this interest as a partner in the firm of Louis C. TIffany and Associated Artists, which in the four years of operation (1879 – 1883) provided decoration for clients ranging from Mark Twain in Hartford, Conn. to President Chester Arthur at the White House.

13 INCREDIBLE Places to Celebrate the Spring Equinox

The spring  (vernal) equinox is celebrated as Alban Eiler (Light of Earth).  The equinoxes were considered a time of balance, not only between dark and light, but between worlds as well and, therefore, a time of high magical potential.  More mundanely this festial signified the time for spring planting and fertility rituals.
