This area is Belgravia.  In the 18thc and early 19th c the Wellborne River ran through here which was composed of desolate fields and muddy swamps but it eventually was drained and covered and became Belgravia.

On 340 W 9th Ave

is a 1920’s home built for a winter occupant (or so assummed),   Jacob Himelberger, but ten years later a Jean Hendrie of Sewickly, Pa, an aunt of a doctor who also lived on 9th, owned it.  What’s outstanding about this house is that is was unusual for Victoria Bungalows like this to be built in the 1920’s

  And please don’t miss Pices Rising a restaurant devloped by former occupants of Key West—Originally a house it is now a restaurant which incorporates that same ( and entire) house at its center and uses it for a second floor addition to the restaurants seating area.  Oh and the rest (including 2 bars one inside and one outside on the deck overlooking the lake) is great to visit for the character of the place—great staff, wonderful views  and before I forget–the food is excellent.
