Main picture: Cassadaga Hotel—I took a Meet Up Group there once but have been to the town several times—like the shops and the restaurant at the Hotel—just walking about in the small town and the book shops. There’s also lots of lovely ladies and gentlemen who do readings—tours and all manner of special events.

But here are a few famous Persons that were born or later arrived here and made a mark in the country’s history and where you might find them (or at least their memory)
St Augustine’s Abbey
In 597 Christian missionaries arrived in what is now England led by St. Augustine who eventually become the archbishop of Cantebury
Here are sites you can visit that are all part of St. Augustine’s bringing the church to the Brits.
Canterbury Cathedral, St Augustine’s Abbey, and St Martin’s Church
Above is Westminster Palace on the left—(now also called Parliament) If you look to the right of Big Ben you will see two churches side by side–smaller one is St. Margarets and has been Parliament’s church for some time and the taller with the two towers is West Minster Abbey. Oh and the water is the Thames. Any more questions?
Edward the Confessor (1042- 66) eventually named a saint by the Catholic Church (and the only English King ever named one) —Began his reign by building the Abbey here—at the time the area here was an island— he also built the original Palace as well—they have been built, rebuilt and more since then but it was his vision that placed them here.
By the way it was the heir-less ruler that’s death left the vikings, a king maker and the Normans fighting for the Island control (the big one–not the one the abbey was on—though that was definately included, but the big England on and of course Edward’s crown.
Edward the Confessor, one of the last Anglo-Saxon kings, has been historically preserved and depicted on the Bayeux Tapestry.

And another chuch you might find interesting and an update on one of those old chuches that has just repaired damage caused by Henry VIII
The first foundation stone was laid by Bishop Poore in 1220. The cloisters were begun in 1240, and the lovely Chapter House in 1263. In 1265 a free-standing bell tower was added. This bell tower is long gone, the victim of remodelling carried out in the late 18th century by architect James Wyatt.

It was a Florida day or rather a Florida Fall day–which to me is the most glorious weather the world may have ever seen. If you haven’t been to Florida through the seasons it’s hard to explain why there is such a difference–because what I heara so often from the new Northerners is: “There are no seasonal changes.
